  • No Vote in Knesset

    An outrage in the Knesset: The Knesset members were about to approve a proposal for a bill that would require a majority vote of Israeli citizens, in order to withdraw from Ramat Hagolan. But Minister Dan Meridor from the Likud announced: I have submitted an appeal to prevent the bill from being passed. Thus, the Knesset vote on the "law of continuity" was cancelled at the last minute.
    Heads of Golan local authorities, who came to the Knesset Monday afternoon, could not believe their eyes. A senior Minister from the Likud sabotaged the vote on the "continuity law" at the last minute. If the law had been passed, a referendum would be required before Israel's government could decide to withdraw from any part of Ramat Hagolan.
