David Shmueli 09/12/2009 09:31Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will back a bill that will require a national referendum before going forward with any agreement that involves a withdrawal from the Golan Heights or East Jerusalem. "Any historic peace agreement I bring won't be based on a majority within the coalition but on substantial support from the majority of the public," said Netanyahu.

Referendum on Golan
Reuven Stein 08/12/2009 22:42Tomorrow it will be possible to bring to a vote in the Knesset the law obligating a national referendum for withdrawals from the Golan Heights or East Jerusalem. Minister Dan Meridor attempted to block drafting of the bill. The Ministerial committee rejected his appeal.

Ne'eman Must Resign!

Lawmakers in Israel are saying that Ne'eman's "Jewish" remarks "have no place" in the Israeli legal system, and that he should immediately resign from his position. They claim that his words were a call to "nullify the status of the Knesset and judges."
