  • The Mission Continues

As in the past so it remains today - we were and still are under the selfsame commitment to adhere to the directions of the Gedolei Yisrael, who stand guard against breaches of purity threatening our camp. When we were required to ask – we asked. When we were instructed to depart – we left. The moment we are summoned back to raise the flag, every other consideration is pushed to the side and we answer: We are ready!

Update: Boy Hit by Bus This Morning Identified

Update: The public is asked to pray for the complete recovery of Asher ben Donna. He is still in serious condition.

A little boy was hit by an Egged bus and seriously injured this morning in Jerusalem, and he has been hospitalized at Hadassah Ein Kerem in the city. As of 7:00 this evening (Tuesday), the parents of the boy had still not been located.

The child is chareidi, was assumed to live in the Ramot neighborhood, and is approximately 8 years old. He was hit by an Egged bus and was seriously injured on Sderot Golda Meir this morning. Ichud Hatzolah paramedics were on the scene within minutes to provide first aide, and the boy was then transferred to the Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital - unconscious and in serious condition.

Nobody reported a missing child to the police, over the course of the day, and as of 7:00 this evening, nobody had yet come to the hospital to identify the injured boy. The only information on his identity was that his name might be Aryeh or Asher Toledano.

Just after 8:00, the police received a call from a counselor at a dormitory saying that one of the children in his care was missing. Apparently, the boy hurt in the accident lives in the dormitory – called "Sanhedrin" – and learns in a Talmud Torah elsewhere in Jerusalem. The director of the dormitory went immediatly to the hospital once it was verified that the child injured by the bus was the same child who was missing from the dormitory. His parents were also contacted.

The public is asked to pray for the full recovery of Asher Ben Donna, n"y.
