Incitement against Chareidim in Jerusalem
Several caricatures featuring chareidi men appeared on walls in Jerusalem, with the words: 'Iran Is Here'
The incitement against the chareidi community in Jerusalem is gaining momentum: two days after hundreds of anti-chareidi locals protested against chareidim in Jerusalem, anti-chareidi graffiti was discovered in the capital this afternoon.
In a picture taken by Abir Sultan of 'Flash 90', the graffiti can be seen featuring a caricature of a chareidi man with long peyos with the text: 'Iran Is Here'. The caricature evokes painful memories of dark episodes in Jewish history.
The secular anti-chareidi demonstrations in Jerusalem, as well as the recent graffiti, comes as a response to the frum community's protests in the past few months, mainly against the chilul Shabbos of the Intel Company and the Carta parking lot in the city.
On motzaei Shabbos, several hundred secular locals, as well as many mizrachi ones, protested against the 'chareidim who are controlling the city'. Several MKs from the left-wing parties also participated and slammed the chareidim for 'their violent behavior'.
The media, which is not known for its excessive love of chareidim, covered the event heavily and made it seem like the demonstration was enormous.
