  • The Mission Continues

As in the past so it remains today - we were and still are under the selfsame commitment to adhere to the directions of the Gedolei Yisrael, who stand guard against breaches of purity threatening our camp. When we were required to ask – we asked. When we were instructed to depart – we left. The moment we are summoned back to raise the flag, every other consideration is pushed to the side and we answer: We are ready!

Over 200 people attended an assembly organized by the right-wing members of the Likud on Motzaei Shabbos. The participants criticized PM Binyamin Netanyahu's decision to freeze construction in the settlements.

The assembly was held at the Mall Park in Ra'anana and was attended by several city council heads from the Likud, mostly from Judea and Samaria, as well as MKs, public figures and activists.

MK Dani Danon, who also participated in the assembly, said during his speech that is a disgrace that a Likud-led government freezes construction in the settlements and calls 300,000 law abiding citizens 'a problem'. "For several years, we have claimed that Jewish presence in the settlements is not an obstacle for peace, and after the disengagement the public accepted our stance. Then comes the Prime Minister and takes the position of the left", Danon said.

During the assembly, right-wing activists distributed stickers reading: 'A Real Likudnik Doesn't Give In'. The assembly will be followed by an extensive campaign led by the right-wing public, which will claim that Netanyahu gave in to American pressure when he agreed to freeze construction in the settlements.

Head of the Beit Aryeh City Council, Avi Noam, used the term 'terrible' while describing the current American leadership during his speech, repeating the words of Culture Minister Limor Livnat who had said "This is the most terrible, anti-Semitic, Jew-hating leadership ever", referring to the Obama administration.

Ron Nachman of the Ariel Municipality also spoke at the assembly, and asked rhetorically: "Are we second-class citizens? This government, that we worked so hard to achieve, has adopted the Rabin policy that began 17 years ago".
