  • The Mission Continues

As in the past so it remains today - we were and still are under the selfsame commitment to adhere to the directions of the Gedolei Yisrael, who stand guard against breaches of purity threatening our camp. When we were required to ask – we asked. When we were instructed to depart – we left. The moment we are summoned back to raise the flag, every other consideration is pushed to the side and we answer: We are ready!

Due to Agreement: Only Few Individuals Demonstrated Outside Intel

The quiet negotiations that have been held between the Intel administration and the Rabbinical Committee effectively cut down the numbers of protesters to merely a few individuals. According to the agreement, Intel will employ non-Jews only on Shabbos. Simultaneously, around one hundred people returned to the Carta parking lot to protest against the chillul Shabbos

Only a dozen people arrived at the Intel Company in Har Chotzvim in Jerusalem to demonstrate against the chillul Shabbos of the company. The police prevented the protesters from entering the site. The demonstration was peaceful and no arrests were made.

The reason for the low number of protesters lies in the fact that an agreement is currently being discussed between the Intel administration and the Rabbinical Committee for the Sanctity of Shabbos. According to the agreement, Intel will employ non-Jews on Shabbos.

Due to the fact that the agreement hasn't yet been finalized, the Rabbinical Committee has not yet called for the demonstrations to stop, but on the other hand it has also not condemned any demonstrations.

The Eidah Chareidis, which does not accept the planned agreement, will organize its own demonstration sometime this week.

Meanwhile, protesters returned to the Carta parking lot to demonstrate against the chilul Shabbos this afternoon. Approximately one hundred avreichim held a peaceful and nonviolent demonstration at the site.
