Netanyahu: 'Meeting with Obama Positive'
On his way to France, Netanyahu clarifies that 'the meeting with Obama was very positive'
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu finally comments on his meeting with President Obama which has until now been surrounded by mystery. During a conversation with reporters this evening he said: "The rumors about a cool atmosphere are nonsense. This is entirely untrue".
Netanyahu furthermore added that "the significance of the meeting will become obvious in the future". The Prime Minister claimed that the private meeting was very positive and to the point, and focused mainly on Israel's security and ways to advance the peace process.
"We discussed these issues in great detail in a friendly atmosphere. I am grateful for the opportunity to hold a positive meeting", he said.
Netanyahu did not elaborate on the details of meeting, as per the White House's demand, in a quest to repair the damage done to America's trust in the Israeli leadership after several gaffes of the Prime Minister in the past.
