Justice Minister Ne'eman Criticizes State Attorney's Office
Justice Minister Yaakov Ne'eman slams the "people of the State Attorney's office for serving the interests of certain political figures"
Justice Minister Yaakov Ne'eman blames certain figures "from within the government and outside" for fanning the flames in the dispute over the planned reforms in the Attorney General's office.
Ne'eman, in an interview with Channel 2, claimed that the "people of the State Attorney's office are serving the interests of certain political figures".
The Justice Minister clarified that he does not intend to divide the responsibilities of the Attorney General, but rather to perform other changes. He also referred to Attorney General Mazuz's comment, claiming that the planned reforms are a reduplication of the Friedman reforms, and said: "Mazuz is entitled to his own opinion on the subject".
Ne'eman furthermore slammed State Attorney Moshe Lador for his letter in which he harshly criticizes the minister for his planned reforms, and said that never before has a lower-ranking official criticized his superior in such a harsh way. "I hope that he will clarify his letter to me in private. He did not have to publicize his letter", said the Justice Minister.
