Settlement Compromise
David Shmueli 23/08/2009 13:27Representatives of the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense returned from a round of meetings with the Americans, and presented the Security forum with details about the possibility for compromise between Israel and the United States. The new plan, which is still being formulated, would allow Israel to complete the construction of 2500 housing units that are already being built in the Yesha settlements. Simultaneously, Arab countries will begin a process of normalization.

Funding for Chareidi Schools
David Shmueli 23/08/2009 09:46The Jerusalem City Council approved by a majority vote a decision to allow for budget increases for chareidi school networks, up to 100% funding. The city also agreed to pay the electric bills for institutions that are "recognized by not official" (Chinuch Atzmai Beis Yaakov and Talmud Torah schools fit this category).

He attacked the extremist Left, and expressed his concern over what he perceives to be the Prime Minister's surrender to the Left. Netanyahu's office responded: "Ya'alon will be summoned to discuss his comments."

Where are the Police?

The Finance Ministry investigated the allegations and made a disturbing discovery: Last year, 1000 new policemen were hired, and next year another 1500 are expected to join the force. Israeli Violence Escalating

During a meeting held by the Internal Affairs Committee, Ne'eman said, "We are in a very serious situation. War on crime must take top priority. We have become like Sodom; we resemble Gomorrah."
