  • Settlement Compromise

    Representatives of the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense returned from a round of meetings with the Americans, and presented the Security forum with details about the possibility for compromise between Israel and the United States. The new plan, which is still being formulated, would allow Israel to complete the construction of 2500 housing units that are already being built in the Yesha settlements. Simultaneously, Arab countries will begin a process of normalization.

    The Jerusalem City Council approved by a majority vote a decision to allow for budget increases for chareidi school networks, up to 100% funding. The city also agreed to pay the electric bills for institutions that are "recognized by not official" (Chinuch Atzmai Beis Yaakov and Talmud Torah schools fit this category).
