IDF Soldiers Catch H1N1
David Shmueli 05/11/2009 23:20Approximately 160 IDF soldiers were sent home from an Air Force army base today, after doctors feared that they had either contracted the Mexican flu, or come in contact with people who were ill with the virus. The IDF Spokesman said that the decision to discharge the soldiers was made with the intent of preventing an outbreak of the virus.

The Hezbollah describes the incident as a case of "Israeli pirates operating in international waters."

Avi Moshe 02/11/2009 14:30The National Insurance Institute's Poverty Report for 2008 determined that the number of poor in Israel has remained stable, despite the economic crisis of the past year. The data presented by the Minister of Welfare shows that every fourth person in Israel is poor. There has been a decrease of poor children, but among the poverty stricken citizens, conditions have gotten worse.
