  • The Mission Continues

As in the past so it remains today - we were and still are under the selfsame commitment to adhere to the directions of the Gedolei Yisrael, who stand guard against breaches of purity threatening our camp. When we were required to ask – we asked. When we were instructed to depart – we left. The moment we are summoned back to raise the flag, every other consideration is pushed to the side and we answer: We are ready!

Barak: No Support for Those who Encourage Extreme Views

Barak attacked the National Priorities Map and called on the government not to support communities that encourage activities such as “the severe incident in the mosque."

As expected: Defense Minister Ehud Barak asserted in the cabinet meeting convened to vote on the National Priority Map that it supports isolated communities which encourage extreme actions, such as the burning of the mosque. "There are several small communities that are consistently the source of extreme activity that harm the fabric of life in areas of Judea and Samaria. For example, events such as the severe incident in the mosque on Friday.

"The Labor party priority is to Galilee, the Negev, and to the towns of the periphery. Period," Barak clarified his position, which was previously known; therefore, the voting was possibly slated to be postponed because of Labor’s opposition in additional to the predicted opposition of Shas ministers. Previously, the Prime Minister suggested to Barak, Chairman of the Labor Party, that he establish a special Ministerial Committee to examine the areas included in the map, and submit its conclusions.

The Defense Minister said in his remarks that "the IDF assures the safety of all Israelis everywhere and will continue to do so in any situation, also the future.”
