Netanyahu: Palestinians are Adopting a Mistaken Strategy
The Security Cabinet convened in Jerusalem to discuss the Palestinian refusal to renew diplomatic negotiations, despite a series of gestures made for the Palestinian population. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu: Palestinians have adopted a strategy of rejecting negotiations with Israel, but this is a mistake on their part.
Netanyahu made the comments during a Security Cabinet meeting that dealt with Israel's relations with the Palestinian Authority.
During the debate different evaluations were presented by representatives of the defense system and intelligence community, which analyzed at length the reasons for the Palestinian refusal to resume the political negotiations, despite the fact that in this past year Israel has made a series of concessions and gestures.
"It seems that the Palestinians adopted a strategy of rejecting negotiations with Israel to avoid coping with the demands of Israel and the international community, which require compromises on their part," said the Prime Minister after the meeting, "but this is a mistake. There will be no real solution without direct negotiations with Israel in which we will reach agreements and arrangements between the two sides."
