  • The Mission Continues

As in the past so it remains today - we were and still are under the selfsame commitment to adhere to the directions of the Gedolei Yisrael, who stand guard against breaches of purity threatening our camp. When we were required to ask – we asked. When we were instructed to depart – we left. The moment we are summoned back to raise the flag, every other consideration is pushed to the side and we answer: We are ready!

Iran Warns Swiss of “Consequences” over Minaret Ban

Iranian Foreign Minister told the Swiss foreign minister: "There will be consequences for the implementation of the new decision to prohibit construction of minarets."

Iran against Switzerland: Iran warned Switzerland of “consequences” over a referendum banning the building of new mosque minarets.

"The referendum result, prohibiting the construction of minarets, is contrary to the prestige of a country which claims to be an advocate of democracy and human rights," said the Iranian Foreign Minister, adding that he hopes that the government of Switzerland would “take the necessary steps and find a constitutional way to prevent imposition of the ban.”

The results of the referendum, as previously reported, were that 57 percent of Swiss citizens voted to prohibit building new minarets. Switzerland's Foreign Minister had already expressed her opposition to the referendum result and told the Iranian Foreign Minister in their last conversation that the government will do everything to preserve the rights of Muslims in the country.

Switzerland's ambassador to Iran was summoned to the Foreign Ministry in Tehran, where he was handed a formal protest by the Iranians. The Head of the Western Europe Office in the Iranian Foreign Ministry criticized the Islamic hatred and xenophobia in Europe, and that the fight against Muslim symbols began in a country like Switzerland.
