Brazil: The Criminals Disguised themselves as Policemen, and Released Prisoners
Brazil: 6 armed men, dressed in police uniforms, released 28 prisoners from jail in broad daylight.
The Police Department in Rio de Janeiro reported that the armed men initially gained entry into the police station by claiming that they were placing another prisoner behind bars. Once inside, the armed man overcame 2 guards who were in charge of 150 prisoners being held in the station, located in the northern part of the city.
The imposters were armed with hunting rifles and carried false documents. They used pliers in order to open five cells, and release the prisoners being held inside. The local police are conducting an investigation to determine whether the imposters wanted to release any specific prisoner.
Shortly after the mass breakout, 3 of the prisoners were apprehended and returned to jail.
