  • The Mission Continues

As in the past so it remains today - we were and still are under the selfsame commitment to adhere to the directions of the Gedolei Yisrael, who stand guard against breaches of purity threatening our camp. When we were required to ask – we asked. When we were instructed to depart – we left. The moment we are summoned back to raise the flag, every other consideration is pushed to the side and we answer: We are ready!

New Sefer Torah in Memory of Rabbi Bentzion Kruman hy"d

The parade set out to the grand Bobov Beis Medrash in Bat Yam from Rabbi Kruman's house

Yochanan Weisberg 19/11/2009 09:12

Hundreds of Bobover Chassidim and Bat Yam residents participated in a hachnassas sefer Torah in the loving memory of Rabbi Bentzion Kruman hy"d, who was brutally murdered during the Mumbai Beit Chabad massacre last year. The parade set out to the grand Bobov Beis Medrash in Kiryat Bobov, Bat Yam.

Several prominent Admorim, Rabbanim and public figures arrived in Kiryat Bobov on Monday afternoon to write the last letters in the sefer Torah at the house of late Rabbi Kruman hy"d. Among them was Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Meislish, Rav of the Bobover kehillah and a son-in-law of the late Bobover Rebbe zt"l.

At seven p.m. the parade set out from the Krumans household. Hundreds of children from the kehillah accompanied the sefer Torah on its way to the Beis Medrash with lit torches in their hands, and bachurim and avreichim danced around the Torah scroll with all their might.

The sefer Torah was brought into the Beis Medrash and Rabbi Meislish recited the customary mizmorim. With trembling hands, the father of the late Rabbi Kruman hy"d brought in the sefer Torah to the aron kodesh.

Following the hachnassas sefer Torah, the crowd assembled for a seudas mitzvah and a yahrtzeit seudah in memory of Rabbi Kruman hy"d. His father, who has finished a masechta l'ilui nishmas his beloved son, spoke before the crowd and talked about his son's greatness in Torah and middos.

Rabbi Kruman's elder brother also spoke at the event, as did the mara d'asra Rabbi Meislish.
