  • The Mission Continues

As in the past so it remains today - we were and still are under the selfsame commitment to adhere to the directions of the Gedolei Yisrael, who stand guard against breaches of purity threatening our camp. When we were required to ask – we asked. When we were instructed to depart – we left. The moment we are summoned back to raise the flag, every other consideration is pushed to the side and we answer: We are ready!

Yochanan Weisberg 19/11/2009 10:35

A large crowd of Jerusalem residents and Pshevorsker Chassidim, headed by the talmidim of Kollel Chibas Yerushalayim, participated in a yahrtzeit seudah in memory of the tzaddik Reb Yankele Pshevorsker zy"a.

The seudah was held at the Satmar hall in Shikkun Satmar, Jerusalem, and was attended by many gedolim, among them the Gaavad of the Eidah Chareidis, Rabbi Yitzchak Tuviah Weiss shlita.

In honor of the event, a special guest arrived from abroad: Rabbi Yosef Naftali Wagshal shlita, a son-in-law of the current Pshevorsker Rebbe shlita, who held the main speech at the event.

Rabbi Wagshal spoke at length about his grandfather's close connection with the Kollel and related many stories about his great contributions to the Kollel. Reb Yankele would often encourage businessmen to donate money to the Kollel before sealing a business deal, and those who did so never lost in their deals.

Rabbi Wagshal completed his speech by encouraging all those present to contribute to the Kollel.

After his speech, Gaavad of the Eidah Chareidis Rabbi Yitzchak Tuviah Weiss shilta spoke before the crowd, and reminisced about the very close relationship he enjoyed with Reb Yankele during the time that he was living in Antwerp.
