  • The Mission Continues

As in the past so it remains today - we were and still are under the selfsame commitment to adhere to the directions of the Gedolei Yisrael, who stand guard against breaches of purity threatening our camp. When we were required to ask – we asked. When we were instructed to depart – we left. The moment we are summoned back to raise the flag, every other consideration is pushed to the side and we answer: We are ready!

Baruch Dayan HaEmet: The Holy Admor of Stanislav, ztz"l, was Niftar on Sunday

The Nadvorna chassidim are in great sorrow over the news of the passing of the holy Admor of Stanislav, ztzl.

Yochanan Weisberg 09/11/2009 17:55
The holy Admor, Rabbi Yisrael Rosenbaum, ztz"l, of Stanislav, son of Maran the holy Admor of Zutchka, ztz"l, was niftar on Sunday.

The tzaddik Rabbi Yisrael, ztz"l, was born on Chag HaShavuos in the year 1931, in Romania. As a child, the Admor studied with a melamed his father, ztz"l, hired. The teacher praised the child's sharp mind and deep understanding of his learning.

For his entire life the Admor was known for his open doors, to anyone who needed shelter or guidance. Many asked for his advice and blessing, including numerous Admorim and rabbis from the previous generation. They would bring him kvitlach before the Yamim HaNoraim, and visit him when they had good news to share with him.

It is told of the Admor, that during the years of the Holocaust, he made great personal sacrifices to help other Jews, bringing them water and other basic supplies that were necessary to their survival. After the war, he immigrated to the United States, were he lived in the home of his father, the holy Admor of Zushka, ztz"l, and continued to grow in Torah and middos tovos.

In time, Rabbi Yisrael married the daughter of the holy Admor of Kalov, Rabbi Menachem Shlomo Taub, ztz"l, and established a home rich in Torah and Chassidus.

Before his marriage, during his engagement to his wife, his grandfather – the holy Admor Rabbi Ithamar of Nadvorna, ztz"l – instructed him to establish a beis midrash for Torah and tefillah, and bestowed upon him the name "Stanislav", in memory of his uncle who did not have any descendants. The holy Rabbi Ithamar said at the time to his followers, that if the generation was meritorious, Rabbi Yisrael would be a very great Admor. It is known that his father said that when he spoke words of Torah, it was as though ruach hakodesh was coming from his mouth, and his father always praised his scholarship.

In his final years, the Admor was very weak, and on Sunday, he was niftar. He left behind him in this world hundreds of descendants, grandchildren and great-grandchildren all following the straight path of Torah.

The levaya will leave his beis midrash in Monsey, and on Monday continued in Jerusalem. The Admor burial plot is at the feet of his father, the Admor of Zutchka, ztz"l, on Har HaZeitim.
