Iranian President Ahmadinejad: "We Will Not Give Up Nuclear Power"
Iran is supposed to give a formal answer to the west's offer of enriching uranium in Russia and France later today, but this morning commented: "We will not give up one iota of our nuclear power and we will not relinquish our right to advance our peaceful nuclear program"
Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad is in no hurry to give an ultimate answer to the western powers' suggestion. This morning, he commented: "We will not give up out nuclear power".
He also mentioned during his speech that after many months of empty declarations of sanctions by western countries, they have begun talking about cooperation with Iran.
The president furthermore said that Iran will cooperate with the world on the issue of nuclear fuel; however "we will not relinquish our right to advance our peaceful nuclear program". According to Ahmadinejad, the agreement will show how serious the western powers really are.
Ahmadinejad's comment comes merely a few hours before Iran has to submit its final response to the IAEA – the International Atomic Energy Agency, regarding the western powers' suggestion. Under the agreement, Iran will be able to enrich uranium in Russia and France for research purposes.
