  • The Mission Continues

As in the past so it remains today - we were and still are under the selfsame commitment to adhere to the directions of the Gedolei Yisrael, who stand guard against breaches of purity threatening our camp. When we were required to ask – we asked. When we were instructed to depart – we left. The moment we are summoned back to raise the flag, every other consideration is pushed to the side and we answer: We are ready!

Gaddafi: Give Nuclear Weapons to Palestinians like Israel

The Libyan ruler mixes in and claims Palestinians should be given nuclear weapons, as Israel has: “If Israel has them then the Palestinians have the right, too.”

Libyan ruler, Muammar Gaddafi, known for making interesting headlines, found a way to prove his creativity with new statements that the Palestinians must be given nuclear capability, and if possible, the same for the Egyptians, Saudis and Syrians.

In his remarks in an interview with the British network, Sky News, Gaddafi said: “If Israel has nuclear weapons, then the Arab countries and the Palestinian people have the right to have them, too.” In the full interview, which will be released during the day (Monday), Gaddafi said that he did not see any reason to prevent nuclear capabilities from Arab countries, as given to Israel: “If the Israelis have atomic weapons and nuclear capabilities, then the Egyptians, Syrians, Saudis and the Palestinians should have the right given to their enemy and neighbor, why not?”

In his remarks Gaddafi accused the international community in giving preferential treatment to Israel regarding its nuclear issue. He said the international community has adopted a double standard, as its usual attitude for any other country is unlike its attitude to Israel. Asked about Iran's nuclear program, Gaddafi said, “If Iran had nuclear weapons then we all would be against them. But Iran has not said they have an atomic bomb.”

In the interview, Gaddafi gave his unexpected blessing to the President of the United States, Barack Obama, on the African-American President winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Gaddafi stated his blessing to Obama stems from the fact that they are from the same origin: “No need to explain. We are proud of Africa. As Africans, we are proud of anyone who originates on the continent; we are proud of the African President of the United States.” He then added that the President deserved the prize, unlike many opinions in the West that say that as long as not he has not accomplished a significant step in the area of peace he is not worthy of it. Rather, it should be given to him at a later point.
