  • The Mission Continues

As in the past so it remains today - we were and still are under the selfsame commitment to adhere to the directions of the Gedolei Yisrael, who stand guard against breaches of purity threatening our camp. When we were required to ask – we asked. When we were instructed to depart – we left. The moment we are summoned back to raise the flag, every other consideration is pushed to the side and we answer: We are ready!

A Shabbos of Gathering and Unity in Ramat Vizhnitz in Haifa in Memorial to the Admor “HaMakor Baruch” of Seret zy’a

The chassidim of Seret-Vizhnitz marked the Shabbos before the Hilula of the Admor of Seret-Vizhnitz zy’a as a special occasion

Yochanan Weisberg 19/10/2009 18:43
As is done every year, on the Shabbos before the Yom Hilula (yahrtzeit) of the Admor HaRav HaKodesh ztz’l, author of the “Makor HaBaruch,” all the chassidim of Seret-Vizhnitz, the yeshivah students and graduates, gather at Ramat Vizhnitz in Haifa from all their places of residence to spend time in the “shade of pure faith,” the holy court of Seret-Vizhnitz in Ramat Vizhnitz, Haifa.

At this Shabbos gathering the chassidim merited to listen to his son, the Admor of Seret-Vizhnitz shlit’a, who has taken the place of his father. He davened from the amud and made a Tisch with the attendance of throngs of the chassidim who come to recharge their spiritual batteries as a continuation of the month of Tishrei, for the long winter months ahead of us.
The committee for hachnasas orchim run by the central management of the Court made sure there were ample places for eating and sleeping for all the guests, as appropriate for the regal chassidic court of Seret-Vizhnitz. During the Shabbos young chassidim could be seen meeting with the elders of the Chassidus so they could hear and learn about the Torah lessons of the Admor zy’a and his way of life, so they could learn the path they should follow in their lives.

It has been forty-six years since he departed, but the memory of the Admor zy’a is etched in the minds of his disciples from that time: his love for each and every disciple, his concern for both the talmid’s spiritual level and physical welfare as one; how he would arrive each week to test the students and to grant them his holy blessings, and how he would act when he had to give them rebuke; the Tisch on Shabbos night, and the shiurim on Thursday night, and more.

On Thursday night before the Hilulah, the chassidim gathered in a special way with the mashpi’im (spiritual guides) of each city, as the Baal HaHilula instituted—that they should sit together in a gathering of friends every Thursday night. He used to say that if friends sit together on Thursday night then they say “l’chu neranana” on Shabbos night with an entirely different flavor.

On Monday night, 2 Mar Cheshvan, the Admor of Seret-Vizhnitz shlit’a will conduct a central seudah for the Hilula in the Beis Midrash HaGadol in Ramat Vizhnitz in Haifa at 8:00 PM, with the attendance of many chassidim and disciples from throughout Israel.

On the next day, Tuesday, they will travel to the holy gravesite in the Ohelei Tzaddikim of Beis Vizhnitz in the Beis HaChaim Zichron Meir in Bnei Brak, at 12:00 PM.
