On the second day of Chol Hamoed Sukkos, a special and grand event took place in Williamsburg, New York. Maran the holy Admor of Toldos Tzvi of Spinka, shlita, conducted a siyum Shas seudah.
The holy Admor of Toldos Tzvi of Spinka, shlita, is renowned as an excellent speaker, and gave a special shiur for the elder chassidim, who had the merit to know the Admor's grandfather, the holy "Chekel Yitzchak", ztz"l. For years, the chassidim studied numerous tractates of Shas, until making the admirable achievement of completing the entire Shas.
The event was organized by the devoted askanim of Spinka, headed by Reb Yitzchak Shpitzer. In honor of the Torah, it was decided to hold the siyum meal as part of a Simchas Beis Hashoeva celebration.
A gigantic sukkah was constructed in the courtyard of the main beis midrash, where the event was held, and where meals were served throughout the duration of the holiday.
Hundreds of Williamsburg residents attended the event, as well as Spinka chassidim and students. The Admor of Spinka is one of the most prominent Admorim in the city, and thousands of people attend his riviting shiruim every week.
Numerous rabbis and Admorim were in attendance. After the siyum of the Shas, the Admor danced and sang joyous nigunim together with the crowd. The highlight of the event was the speech given by the Admor. For over an hour, the Admor spoke holy words of Torah, and expressed his thanks to Hashem, "shehchiyanu v'kiyamanu v'hegiyanu l'zman hazeh". He prayed for the continued success of all of those who study and teach Torah.
The mayor's office sent a chareidi representative to the event – Mr. Fred Kreisman – who also gave a speech, and said that his office was interested in helping the chareidim. The mayor's office was praised for its participation in erecting the giant sukkah on a city street.
The combined siyum and Simchas Beis Hashoeva event inspired the attendees deeply, and they returned to their daily routines with a taste of the holy holiday still on their tongues.
