Steinitz Wants High Court to Consider Economic Ramifications of Rulings

The Minister of Finance, Yuval Steinitz, criticized the Supreme Court judges for failing to consider the economic ramifications of their rulings. In a speech he gave at the Israel Business Conference, Steinitz presented examples of rulings that caused financial loss to the country's treasury, and said, "In cooperation with Minister of Justice I am looking for ways to force High Court judges to consider budget and macro-economic issues in order to refrain from rulings that destabilize the priorities of Israeli society".
