The American organization Human Rights Watch calls on the Syrian Government to reveal the fate of prisoners who took part in the revolt at a prison near the capital Damascus. According to the organization, although eighteen months have passed since the events, it’s still not clear which prisoners were killed during the suppression of the rebellion and the fate of the rest.
According to the contradictory information published close to the events, during the suppression of the rebellion nine to 25 prisoners were killed and one policeman. According to HRW, the families of 42 inmates do not know what happened to their loved ones.
