Former Director-General of Labor, Knesset Member Eitan Cabel, criticized the government ministers from his party for their support of a proposal to designate secluded settlements as high-level development areas on the newly mapped out list of national priorities. Those settlements will then be entitled to large amounts of money.
In a scathing letter he wrote to the members of his party, Cabel said, "Who exactly do you think you are saving? The employees of Tifron? The collapsing periphery communities? Ashekelon, that has lost all its benefits? Do the settlers really need that money, when there are so many other dark corners in the country?"
