Members of the Knesset's Labor Party supported the law of a referendum on any possible withdrawal from the Golan Heights. Party Chairman and Defense Minister Ehud Barak, said that he would support the proposal, following a Meretz faction demand to make the vote a vote of no-confidence in the government. 68 Knesset members supported the proposal, 22 opposed, and one abstained.
