According to a law passed in 1995, the American Embassy was supposed to move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The President of the United States has decided to delay the move again, in keeping with a clause in the law which states that every 6 months, the President has the right to delay the move according based on his own considerations. Thus, for the last 14 years, the US presidents have been doing just that – delaying the move of the embassy.
