Shock in Sderot: A familiar figure in the city, who had a kipah, tzitzit, and long white beard was discovered by "Yad L'Achim" to be a senior activist for the missionary movement.
The man, Stewart Genolin, a fundamentalist Christian and senior missionary for one of the largest missionary organizations in the world, ran an organization that provided assistance to the needy. His true goal was to convert innocent Jews to Christianity.
The Sderot municipality stated that the staff of the city Welfare Department had no knowledge of the missionary's activities, which he disguised behind a cloak of volunteer work in the community.
