Israeli Farmers: A Shortage of Thai Workers will Cause a 20% Drop in Avocado Exports

Ilan Eshel, Director-General of the Fruit Growers Association, says that the shortage of agricultural workers from Thailand is expected to cause a 20% drop in the amount of avocado Israel exports.
According to Eshel, there has been an accumulative delay in the harvesting of avocados since the harvest season began in October. As a result, export income will be affected. "The damage to the country's treasury will be approximately 40 million shekels," he said.
