President of Turkey, Abdullah Gul, said that his country could not restrain in face of "Israel’s wrong policies" in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. Gul also said in his remarks that Turkey "can not impose peace between Syria and Israel, or to mediate between them, without the desire of both sides." The President said these things again after he expressed Turkey's willingness to serve as an intermediary between Syria and Israel.
