Egypt denied today (Monday) the Jordanian newspaper report that the abducted soldier Gilad Shalit was transferred to Egypt. An Egyptian official confirmed in a conversation with the Egyptian newspaper "Al-Yom-a-Saba" that Shalit is in Gaza and an Egyptian delegation visited Gaza before the Feast of Sacrifice to ensure that Shalit was unharmed to discuss arrangements for his transfer to Egypt.
"The negotiations to formulate a deal are very advanced but the parties need additional weeks to complete the transaction, because Israel is afraid that the prisoners that will be released will be involved in attacks against it," the source stated.
