The High Court Justices, in an expanded panel, canceled today (Thursday) the Knesset enacted law that states permits building a private prison in Israel.
Eight judges ruled that a prison operated by a private franchisee is "an illegal injury to human rights, personal freedom, and dignity of man, protected in the Basic Law: Human Dignity and Liberty." One judge objected to the decision.
