Hamas: "Don't Declare a State Before the Occupation Ends"

The Hamas political headquarters in Damascus released a statement today, expressing the organization's opposition to the PLO's initiative to gain support for a unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state. "The declaration of statehood must be a result of the end of the occupation through resistance, and not one made by the Palestinian Authority's president in the face of political failure."
