Prime Minister: We've Been Hit by an "Alcohol Epidemic"

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said this morning during the cabinet meeting that the government must immediately find a way to deal with the problem of alcohol use among Israel's youth. According to Netanyahu, "We are facing a real epidemic. A third of all teens say they have been intoxicated in the past year, and 20% of boys in sixth grade say they drink every week," he said. "This is the second highest rate in Europe." The prime minister added that he would allot $7.2 million to quell the phenomenon.
