Agreement Reached on Drought Tax and Water Rates

The Minister of National Infrastructure, Uzi Landau, announced that a final agreement has been reached by the Knesset regarding the drought tax and the price of water in Israel.
The drought tax will be frozen from January to April, 2010, and then the status of the tax will be re-evaluated.
Beginning in January, 2010, the price of water will increase by 25%, and then by another 12.8% in July. In January, 2011, prices will be raised once more, by 2%, for a total price hike of 40%. (YNET)
