  • The Mission Continues

As in the past so it remains today - we were and still are under the selfsame commitment to adhere to the directions of the Gedolei Yisrael, who stand guard against breaches of purity threatening our camp. When we were required to ask – we asked. When we were instructed to depart – we left. The moment we are summoned back to raise the flag, every other consideration is pushed to the side and we answer: We are ready!

Couple Recovers Rings from Ten Tons of Garbage

Etrog Staff 12/11/2009 15:16
From CNN.com: Local sanitation workers in Morris Plains, New Jersey found a woman’s wedding and engagement rings after sifting through 10 tons of garbage on Monday.
The woman, who will be 78 in December, thought that her husband, 78, had accidentally thrown away a cup that she had put her rings in, thinking it was garbage.
After contacting the sanitation company, she located the truck with her garbage. "We dumped the truck, which had about 10 tons of garbage on it," the sanitation worker related. After about 50 minutes, her husband, who had gone to help the workers, came back -- "I was knee-deep in garbage," she said he told her, bearing the rings that represented their 55 years of marriage.
"You had to see the expression on their faces when we found it," the sanitation crew supervisor said. "They couldn't believe that we found it, and they didn't know what to say, really. They didn't have to say anything."
"It really was a miracle," the woman said.
