A Greek cargo ship, carrying 23,000 tons of cargo and 22 crew members, was captured yesterday by pirates, northeast of Seychelles, the European Union's Naval Force for Somalia reported.
There have been over 100 pirate attacks and at least 39 hijackings off the eastern coast of Africa this year, including the seizure of a private yacht owned by a British couple at the end of October. Pirates are demanding 7 million dollars for the couple's release.
