Minister of Transportation, Yisrael Katz, announced today that he intends to weigh the possibility of raising the minimum age for driving in Israel to 19 or 20, if the other methods being used to lower the rate of traffic accidents involving young people do not prove to be effective enough.
"Driving is a privilege, and if the choice has to be between enjoying that privilege or staying alive, we will choose life. This will not be a very popular decision, to say the least, but we are determined to make a change in the number of traffic accidents," said Katz.
