MK Ronit Tirosh responded to reports about the cancellation of tax drought, saying that there is no chance of the tax actually being applied in the end: "We are witnessing the collapse of the decree Prime Minister has attempted to place upon us. The water tax will not pass." Tirosh said that the Prime Minister will cancel the tax due to the stubborn opposition of the Israeli public. “The Prime Minister realizes that the Israeli public is demonstrating maturity and resistance to pressures, and not willing to accept the dramatic increase in the cost of a basic necessity like water.”
