In the wake of the capture of the ship laden with weapons, the Israeli Ambassador the United Nations, Professor Gabriella Shalev, submitted an official complaint to the United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, and to the UN Security Council.
In her complaint, Shalev wrote, "The shipment from Iran to Syria, or to any other country or entity, in particular to any terrorist entity, constitutes a severe violation of Resolution 1747... and raises serious concerns that this incident also constitutes a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and 1373."
