Clinton Changes Tune: The United States does not accept the Legitimacy of the Settlements

"We do not accept the legitimacy of settlement activity and we have a very firm belief that ending all settlement activity, current and future, would be preferable," Clinton said after meeting with Egyptian officials including President Hosni Mubarak.
Her words contradict what she said in Jerusalem on Motzei Shabbos – that a settlement freeze was not a pre-condition to renewed peace talks with the Palestinians.
