Gaza Braces for Mexican Flu

While not a single case of Mexican flu has been reported in Gaza – perhaps due to the nearly total separation between Gaza and Israel, health officials in Gaza fear that once the virus enters the Strip, an epidemic will break out. Some 4000 Gazans are planning to travel to Mecca and the Haj later this month, and it is feared that when they return, they will bring the virus with them.
Dr. Majdi Dhair from the Ministry of Health explained in an interview with CNN how Gaza plans to prevent the retruning pilgrims from infecting all of Gaza. "Checking them, examining them at the border and following them for the whole incubation period which means seven days in their homes."
