Initial Investigation of Egyptian Train Crash: Employee Who Left Post Early Killed in Crash

An initial investigation into the fatal train crash that occurred in Egypt yesterday, which left 18 dead and 36 injured, found that the cause of the accident was negligence on the part of a train employee. The signalman on duty near the crash site left work early, in an effort to catch the next train that would take him home. The train the signalman boarded was involved in the crash, and he was one of the 18 people killed.
