China: 3 Miners Rescued after 8 Days Underground
After being stuck in a collapsed shaft for 8 days, 3 Chinese coal miners were finally rescued alive. The 3 were left behind after 24 of their co-workers managed to escape the mine after the collapse. Fortunately, the 3 miners were trapped in a section of the mine that had air circulation and a water source, and after 6 days of surviving on water alone, rescue workers were able drill a passage through which to deliver food to them. After an additional two days of digging, the 3 were finally rescued.
