All the Amercian government offices in South Africa have been closed today, in response to a serious security alert.
The spokeswoman for the American embassy, Sharon Hudson-Dean, said that decision to close the embassy in Pretoria, as well as all other U.S. government facilities in the country, was reached after she received classified information from the regional U.S. security office.
"Our current assumption is that all U.S. government facilities will be open on Wednesday," Hudson-Dean said.
