Severe Weather in Brazil Affects 1.5 Million People
Rain and winds that began on Monday have caused flooding and landslides across the southern region of Brazil. Thus far, 67 municipalities in Santa Catarina and 11 in Rio Grande do Sul have declared a state of emergency. The water level of the Taquari River is more than 32 feet above normal. Over 12,000 people have been forced to evacuate their homes due to flooding. (CNN)
