Buchbut: Municipal Strikes Beginning Sunday
Chairman of the Union of Local Authorities Shlomo Buchbut said Thursday evening that "The municipality strikes scheduled for Sunday will probably last for two days. However, and garbage will not be removed. Special education schools will open as usual."
The Teachers' Union director general, Yossi Wasserman, said this afternoon that the schools will not strike. However, if security guards employed by the municipalities do not show up for work, principals may end up closing school doors in any case on Sunday.
The municipalities are striking in protest of 3 billion shekel cut by the government, of funds allocated for municipal budgets.
