Israel Supreme Court: The Avreich Yisrael Vallis Sentenced to 6 Years in Jail

The chareidi avreich Yisrael Vallis, who was convicted last year of the accidental death of his infant son after the child fell and hit his head against a wall, appealed to the Supreme Court. His appeal was rejected, and the judges decided by majority not to lighten Vallis' sentence. One of the judges, Chanan Meltzer, held the opinion that the defendant's punishment should be decreased to one year in prison.
