17 Year Old Completes Solo Sailing Trip Around the Globe

Mike Perham, a 17 year old boy from Great Britain, has just broken a world record by being the youngest person to sail solo around the world. He began his 30,000 mile, 282 day journey on November 18, 2008. Though he was alone on his yacht for the entire trip, a support team has been continuously sailing alongside him.
A 13 year old Dutch girl wants to attempt the same feat, but social workers are battling to have her made a ward of the court, in order to prevent her parents from allowing her to undertake such a dangerous trip. (CNN)
