Jerusalem: 5 Palestinians Arrested Before Ramadan Prayers

Police have arrested 5 men in the vicinity of Har HaBayit and the Al-Aqsa Mosque today. One man attacked a police offer after being asked to undergo a security check; another was arrested for possessing a knife, and a third, from Gaza, was detained for being in the area without a permit.
Thousands of policemen are manning the streets of Jerusalem, in order to ensure the safety of the city's citizens on the first Friday of the Muslim month of Ramadan. Only Palestinian men over the age of 50, and women over the age of 45 are allowed to enter Jerusalem for the day of prayer, and only with authorized permits. (Ha'aretz)
