Dwindling Doctors in Israel
According to a report published by the Ministry of Health, Israel needs more doctors. In the year 2000, there were 3.7 doctors for every 1000 citizens, while in 2008 there were only 3.5. A statistic that raises more concern is the fact that only 606 new doctors were licensed in Israel in 2008, while in 2000, 898 received licenses to practice medicine. (Arutz 7)
